• ABOUT CRAIG WERKHEISER ART: My subject matter is nature and wildlife, whether it is a traditional figure drawing or a lioness painting. I use traditional materials, charcoal, pastels and watercolors blended on pastelmat, to captivate my audience. — making markings on paper in just the right value, in just the hue, to bring my subject to life.
• WHY MAKE FIGURATIVE ART?
To perceive someone so beautiful and be compelled to reproduce that beauty into art.
Craig finds figurative work to be his ideal form of expression. He loves studying the complexities of the human form, so expressive, and so beautiful. He looks for aesthetic qualities depicting emotion through composition, perspective, lighting and color.
